I've been writing for as long as I can remember. Poems, essays, stories as I like to call them. I started blogging in 2008 and have blogged here, there, and everywhere, finally landing back here on Blogger.
In 2018 I published my first book - a compilation of blog posts and stories of my journey as a homeschooling mom. I taught my boys for a total of 20 years and would do it all over again, if I had the energy!
The book is available as an e-book on Amazon. Click the photo above to view.
In 2021 I wrote my 2nd book titled Notes from a Writer's Heart.
This book is really special, as it is a collection of stories that are personal, as well as observed from the world and people around me. It can be found as a paperback on Amazon, as well.
I write every single day in some form or fashion. But writing is something that has to come from the heart and therefore, it's very vulnerable to share my personal stories.
My style is short essay/story form and usually has a hint of a lesson involved. I've always been a teacher/encourager at heart.
Everything I've published so far, has been in God's timing. How do I know? Because when I try to write in my own strength, it falls flat. But when the Lord has brought it about, it flows from my heart and onto the page with little to no effort. Not that writing or publishing is easy. There are many hours spent gathering thoughts and putting in the technical work (my least favorite). But when it's the right time, the ideas and words all come together in a flowing fashion that's hard to explain. If you've ever done something in God's perfect timing, then you know the difference and you know what I'm talking about.
All that to say...I know I have at the very least, one more book coming, but I'm waiting and leaving it up to the Lord to bring it about in his perfect timing. It's one that I've dreamed about for many years and it will probably be incredibly personal and yet, inspiring, I hope. But that will have to wait until the time is right.
Until then, I'll continue to write and blog and share some stories here and in my journal.
Who knows? I may even have some other projects coming around the bend! But writing will always be my first love. And sharing them with other women will always warm my heart.
I truly believe it's what the Lord called me to do.
